Civil Partnership - Initial Meeting

This face to face meeting is an opportunity to find out more about Cheeseright and Morte, for you to give us the “personality test” and, if we pass that ordeal, for you to share your hopes and aspirations so we can help make this an event to remember. So what will we talk about:

  1. Times and Dates – the date(s) and times of the Civil Partnership procedure, Civil Patnership Ceremony, reception and any other receptions/parties is as good a starting point as any.

If our diaries are clear for that day then let’s continue:

  1. Venue – we will definitely need to know where each events will take place.
  2. Guests – an approximation of the number of attendees, which of these are witnesses, immediate family and friends.
  3. Style of Dress – a brief informal discussion on what each will be wearing.
  4. Transport – what method of transport will be used for your arrival and departure.

That gives us a good idea of you, now it’s time for you to find out more about Cheeseright and Morte or to be less informal, Kevin and Ric:

  1. Ourselves – time for you to give Kevin and Ric a grilling, see if your vision meshes with ours and find out if our philosophy, experience and flexibility sits comfortably with your ideals.
  2. Photographic Aspirations – how do you best want to remember and view your perfect day; are you planning wild and wacky or something more subtle and traditional. We can explore the range and styles of photography that best suit you.

What do we mean by styles? Photographic opportunities broadly falls into three general camps:

    1. photojournalist
    2. traditional
    3. a balanced bag of tricks (often referred to as Reportage and/ or Contemporary).

If you loved your friend’s wedding album and most of them are candid action shots in a mix of black-and-white and colour, you're probably leaning towards photojournalism. If you prefer portraits and posed shots, a traditionalist approach is more for you. Ambivalent? Can't agree? Seek out that special mix for each part of the day. If you are confused by all the styles and style names then that isn’t important. What is important is that whatever you want is what you will have and as you will see later, together we will plan the photographic opportunities at every stage of the day.

  1. Diary Dates – once again, let’s review our diaries and arrange a basic schedule for pre-planning, practice shots, pre ghost shots, the big day (already agreed that one) and any post ghost shots that maybe required.

Now it’s time for you to make that all important big decision and we perfectly understand if this takes a day or two. If you decide to continue with Cheeseright and Morte then the last requirement at this stage is the dreaded:

  1. Contract – once a contract is agreed, signed and an initial fee is received, we can move on to the next stage – Pre-Plan. A “cooling off” period is built into our contract so if you later change your mind within this period then that is perfectly acceptable. See "Cancellation" for further details.
