| Once
we have reviewed all the locations we will put together
an initial structure and again, discuss our plans with you.
We will show you, page by page, each step of how we will
photograph your day and alternatives at each turn. The alternatives
could simply be an another shooting location or position
or a contingency arrangement if the day doesn't unfold as
expected - which we hope will not be required. The scouting
motto of “Be Prepared” is a very good mantra to follow.
Of course, we have no intentions of becoming
overbearing or bossy and will certainly never take over
to the extent that the day ends up being all about the photos.
However, we may need to take charge every once in a while
– moving family, friends and guests into position to make
the most of natural lighting conditions.
We will not know anyone at your ceremony,
so now is a good time to review your guest list and suggest
a few group shots you want taken, detailing each person’s
name and their relationship to the couple. We will also
suggest a few scenarios we would like to shot. Then, if
possible, nominate someone to work with us on the day to
help steer the right people, to the right location at the
right time for each planned shot.
And finally, there are the close-up and
intimate shots – a close-up of the rings, a first
kiss, that look – together we will make sure that
nothing is missed. Irrespective of the style of photography
you choose, it pays to research and plan as much as possible.
It doesn’t take long to do and end results prove that the
effort is more than worthwhile. To make it up on the day
is not for us.
